Keynote Presentation 1: Coupled composition-microstructure design enables strong and ductile titanium-oxygen-iron alloys
Dist. Prof. Ma Qian is a Professor of Advanced Manufacturing and Materials at RMIT University and Deputy Director of the RMIT Centre for Additive Manufacturing. His research spans additive manufacturing, powder metallurgy, solidification processing, light alloys, metallic biomaterials, and architected metamaterials. He has held academic and research positions in Australia, the UK, Singapore, Japan, and China. His recent work includes the development of strong and ductile titanium-oxygen-iron alloys through additive manufacturing. In 2025, he was elected a Fellow of APMI International for contributions to both powder metallurgy and additive manufacturing.

Keynote Presentation 2: An Integrated Framework for Reliable Additive Manufacturing of Ti-6Al-4V: Bridging the gap between powder feedstock characteristics and bed formation with LPBF part performance
Dr. Mahdi Habibnejad is External R&D Manager at AP&C, a General Electric additive company in Canada, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Waterloo. His work focuses on metallic powders and their processing for additive manufacturing, particularly the relationships among powder characteristics, powder-bed formation, processing conditions, defects, microstructure, and mechanical performance. His recent research includes laser powder bed fusion of titanium alloys, powder reuse, particle-size-distribution optimization, and data-driven evaluation of powder behavior. He also serves on the advisory board of the NSERC Holistic Innovation in Additive Manufacturing Network (HI-AM 2.0).

Aijun Huang
Professor, Monash University, Australia

Keynote Presentation 3: Development of High-strength and toughness Commercial Aerospace Ti alloys for Additive Manufacturing
Professor Aijun Huang is Director of the Monash Centre for Additive Manufacturing, Associate Dean–International in the Faculty of Engineering, Vice President–Research and Partnership at Monash Suzhou, and Professor in Materials Science and Engineering and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. His research covers the complete metal additive manufacturing chain, including alloy design, metal powder production, process optimization, component design, post-processing, inspection, qualification, and certification. He has particular expertise in aerospace titanium alloys and nickel-based superalloys and previously worked as an industry technical expert before joining academia. He received his PhD in Materials Science from the University of Birmingham.

Aditya Thakur

Keynote Presentation 4: In Space Manufacturing: Challenges, Opportunities, and Current Research Trends
Dr. Aditya Thakur is a researcher at the Institute of Space Systems (IRAS), Technical University of Braunschweig, where his activities focus on in-space manufacturing. He joined IRAS as a Junior Research Group Leader to investigate and develop manufacturing technologies suitable for space environments. His background encompasses additive manufacturing, multifunctional composites, structural batteries, aerospace structures, materials engineering, and advanced manufacturing. He received his PhD from Missouri University of Science and Technology, where his research addressed the fabrication and characterization of multifunctional composites, including additively manufactured structural battery systems. His current work contributes to technologies for future orbital manufacturing. and space infrastructure.

Martin Jackson
Professor, The University of Sheffield, United Kingdom

Keynote Presentation 5: New design opportunities through solid-state processing of low-cost titanium powder and particulate
Professor Martin Jackson is Professor of Advanced Metals Processing at the University of Sheffield. After graduating in engineering from Sheffield, he worked in aerospace materials at Rolls-Royce before completing a PhD at Imperial College London on microstructural evolution during titanium-alloy forging. His research focuses on sustainable and lower-cost processing of titanium alloys, including forging, machining, field-assisted sintering technology (FAST), recycling of aerospace titanium swarf and additive-manufacturing powder, and near-net-shape processing. He leads the Sheffield Titanium Research Alloy (STAR) group and has represented the UK on the World Titanium Committee since 2015.

Hung-Wei (Homer) Yen
Professor, National Taiwan University, Taiwan

Keynote Presentation 6: Ti Alloys with Bone-Like Modulus: Machine Learning, Design Principle, and 3D Printing
Professor Hung-Wei (Homer) Yen is Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at National Taiwan University and Executive Director for International Affairs in the College of Engineering. He received both his bachelor's degree and PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from NTU and subsequently worked as an atom-probe scientist at the University of Sydney before returning to NTU. His research covers advanced high-strength steels, light metals, hydrogen–metal interactions, titanium alloys, advanced materials characterization, and atom probe microscopy. His group has also pioneered machine-learning-assisted design of affordable titanium alloys with bone-like elastic modulus for biomedical applications.
